The Char Dham pilgrimage sites, nestled in the lofty Garhwal Himalayan expanse of Uttarakhand, have welcomed an unprecedented surge of over 50 lakh pilgrims, marking a historic milestone.

Law enforcement officials report an extraordinary influx of devotees, hailing from both corners of the nation and abroad, eager to partake in the spiritual sanctity of the world-renowned Char Dhams – Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. As of October 16, an astounding 50 lakh pilgrims have embarked on this sacred pilgrimage.

In tandem with this surge, approximately 5.41 lakh vehicles have also journeyed to the revered Char Dham sites. Since the initiation of the Yatra in April and May, Kedarnath Dham has witnessed the arrival of 17.08 lakh pilgrims, Badrinath Dham with 15.90 lakh, Gangotri with 8.46 lakh, and Yamunotri with 6.94 lakh devotees.

Additionally, over 1.77 lakh devotees undertook the spiritual odyssey to Hemkund Sahib, whose portals reverently closed for winter on October 11. In the preceding year, the Char Dham sites welcomed 47 lakh devotees.
